
The Rev. Dr. Jacqueline D. Rose-Tucker - Biographical Sketch
Jacqueline Rose-Tucker is a native of Washington, DC and has been a part of the Methodist Church all her life. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology, and master of divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center (Gammon Theological Seminary) where she graduated with honors with a degree in Clinical Pastoral Care and Theology. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, May, 2007 in New Church Development. Jacqueline was ordained a deacon in 1984 and an elder in 1986. Jacqui has served in the following appointments: Pastor, Calvary United Methodist Church and Senior Associate Pastor and as pastor of Mission, Education and Pastoral Care, Norcross First UMC, Senior Pastor, St Paul UMC, Atlanta-Marietta District.
Currently, Jacqui is serving as District Superintendent of the Rome-Carrollton District in North Georgia Annual Conference. She is the first African American female to serve on the cabinet in the North Georgia Conference. Israel, Rome, France, England, Seoul, Korea, and China are among some of her international travels. She has preached and taught in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, Guatemala, Venezuela and Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Rose-Tucker has served on numerous District and Conference Committees, some of which include: North Georgia Conference Committee on Finance and Administration, Secretary, North Georgia Conference Committee on Insurance, Atlanta-College Park District Building Committee; Atlanta-Emory District Council on Ministries; Convener, District Task Force to Strengthen the Hispanic Church; North Georgia Conference Board of Witness and Worship; Chair, Harry Denman Award Task Force; Chair, of the Task Force on Partners In Ministry; Supervising Pastor, SM II, Emory University's Candler School of Theology.
She continues to serve on Conference Advocacy Team; Conference Nominations Committee; Conference Committee on Black Church Development; Conference Homeless and Housing Council, Trustee, United Methodist Children’s Home and the Murphy-Harpst Home Board of Directors. Dr. Rose-Tucker continues to coordinate international Short-Term Missions teams, work with UMW groups and in areas of provide training in Spiritual Discipline and Leadership Development. She is also a member of the Order of the Flame, World Methodist Evangelism and has served as a 2001 and 2006 delegate to the World Evangelism Conference. She is married to Joe Louis Tucker and they have five adult children.
